Date: 29th September 2004
Time: 8.30am to 10.15am
Venue: Caird Hall, City Square, Dundee
What was is it all about?
Tayside Environmental Network (TEN) intends to achieve in Tayside successes similar to those of environmental networks elsewhere the UK , which have achieved significant reductions in economic and environmental costs. TEN will provide a one-stop-shop for members to access a range of local services which include practical advice, training, member meetings, workshops, access to project officers and other support.
Who put it together?
TEN is a partnership between private and public organisations. The Steering Committee currently represents the 3 local authorities, Dundee and Angus and Perthshire Chambers of Commerce, Scottish Enterprise Tayside, Tayside NHS, Abertay University , Forward Scotland and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency. Further representative members are welcome.
Who attended?
All sectors were welcome, regardless of size and type. TEN activities will be of interest to public and private organisations!
What were the advantages gained?
Poor use of scarce resources affects your profitability as a business, and there is tremendous scope to save money. Addressing environmental issues is a win-win activity, as it can save you money. Typically waste minimisation practices can save £1000 per employee. Also as environmental issues are increasingly of concern to your customers and the wider community, it can have a positive effect on your corporate reputation if you are known for taking a proactive approach.
