Perth & Kinross Council promote the 3R’s to businesses

Perth & Kinross Council saw the publication of their first ‘3R’ supplement in the Business Perthshire Magazine this week as part of their Waste Aware Business campaign for the Perth & Kinross area.

Perth & Kinross Council launched the Waste Aware Business Perth & Kinross campaign at the Perthshire Business Fair in May. The aim of the campaign is to raise the profile of waste management and to highlight the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle services available to businesses in Perth & Kinross.

As part of the campaign the council have developed a new Waste Aware Business Information Pack, in conjunction with Scottish Waste Awareness Group (SWAG), which contains leaflets detailing the waste services available to businesses in Perth & Kinross such as recycling, waste minimisation and waste awareness.

They have also developed case studies showing best practice by businesses which feature in the 3R supplement. The supplement also provides further information on the range of services that they offer and showcases their partners. The partnerships that they have developed with Abertay Centre for the Environment (ACE), Wyllie Recycling, Can-Able and TEN have helped Perth & Kinross Council to deliver specialist help and recycling services to businesses across Perth & Kinross.

The Commercial Waste Campaign has gone from strength to strength, recently gaining accolade by winning the Best Waste Minimisation Initiative Award at the Eventful Scotland Awards 2005, which were attended by major players in the waste management industry.
